BIOGRAPHY
Cate Le Bon was born Cate Timothy in Penboyr, Carmarthenshire, Wales, and took her stage name as a nod to Simon Le Bon. She first drew notice supporting Gruff Rhys on his 2007 UK tour and guested on Neon Neon's 2008 single 'I Lust U.' She sings in both English and Welsh.
Across seven solo albums, Le Bon has built a singular catalog: 2013's Mug Museum featured Perfume Genius, 2016's Crab Day led to an extensive tour, and 2019's Reward earned widespread critical praise. Her seventh album, Michelangelo Dying, arrived in 2025 following a difficult breakup and featured a guest appearance from John Cale. She has also produced records for Deerhunter, Wilco, John Grant, Dry Cleaning, Horsegirl, Devendra Banhart and Kurt Vile.
