BIOGRAPHY

Dirtwire is an American trio, Evan Fraser, David Satori and Mark Reveley, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fraser and Satori formed the group as a duo, with Reveley joining in 2016; all three met at the California Institute of the Arts. Satori also plays in Beats Antique, while Fraser leads the world grove bands Hamsa Lila and Stellamara. Since their 2012 debut, Dirtwire has released nine albums. The band's sound, self-described as future revival, swamptronica, spaghetti-step and electro-twang, blends laptop beat production with instruments including kamale ngonis, jaw harps, space fiddles, whamola basses, Rickenbacker electric 12-strings and bowed banjos. In an Atwood Magazine interview, they discussed their remix of Monolink's 'Mesmerized' and their collaborative album Universal Language, tracing how travel across the globe continues to shape their music.
