BIOGRAPHY

A. Savage (Andrew Savage, born March 13, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and painter best known as co-frontman of Parquet Courts, the band he co-founded with Austin Brown, Sean Yeaton, and his brother Max Savage after relocating to Brooklyn in 2010. Born in Denton, Texas, he studied painting at the University of North Texas. His solo career began with 2017's Thawing Dawn, a dustier, country-leaning departure from his main band's sound. His second solo album, Several Songs About Fire (2023), features guest vocals from Cate Le Bon and drew generally favorable reviews, with critics praising its densely written, unhurried songwriting. Savage is also an accomplished painter who has created all of Parquet Courts' album art, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Recording Package, and has held solo exhibitions in New York and Chicago.
