BIOGRAPHY
Lily Seabird is an American indie rock musician based in Burlington, Vermont, who grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She picked up saxophone at age 9 and guitar at 14, later studying political science and English at the University of Vermont after two years at the New School, graduating in 2019. Work in environmental politics and community organizing brought her to Vermont, but disillusionment with systemic change pushed her toward music full time.
While working as a Climate and Energy Fellow at the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, she released her debut EP, Beside Myself, in 2021. Her first full-length, Alas,, followed in 2024 on Lame-O Records, and her second album, Trash Mountain, arrived in 2025, named for the Burlington neighborhood she shares with fellow musicians.

Critics have praised Alas, as a charming, dynamic entry in indie folk, noting its vintage, Janis Joplin-era blues feel unusual for a recent college graduate, and calling it an indie rock powerhouse where each track reads as personal catharsis. Collaborator Greg Freeman describes her live presence as 'really raw,' with no pretense between Seabird and her audience, a quality reviewers say carries through to the 'remarkably lucid' Trash Mountain, even as one review flagged that record's inconsistency.
