BIOGRAPHY
Chris Cohen is an American singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist born in Los Angeles in 1975. He began playing drums at age three and later taught himself songwriting by overdubbing on a cassette four-track. Before recording under his own name, he wrote for The Curtains, Deerhoof, Natural Dreamers, and Cryptacize (a collaboration with Nedelle Torrisi and Michael Carreira), and was a member of Deerhoof from 2002 to 2006.
He has also played drums or guitar with Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, White Magic, Cass McCombs, Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Danielson, and EZTV, and co-produced Weyes Blood's Front Row Seat to Earth in 2016. Cohen has released three solo albums on Captured Tracks: Overgrown Path (2012), As If Apart (2016), and Chris Cohen (2019), and has toured extensively across the US and Europe.
