BIOGRAPHY
Daniel Romano is a Canadian musician, poet and visual artist from Welland, Ontario, born in 1985 into a family steeped in folk and vintage country music. He first found an audience as co-founder, with brother Ian, of punk band Attack in Black, later working as drummer and multi-instrumentalist for City and Colour.
Restless and prolific, Romano moved into retro country with 2011's Sleep Beneath the Willow, a Polaris Music Prize longlist nominee, and continued through 2013's Come Cry With Me and the Juno-nominated If I've Only One Time Askin'. He co-founded You've Changed Records with Steve Lambke of the Constantines, and his catalog spans folk, psych rock, prog, and punk under names including Daniel Romano's Outfit and Ancient Shapes.
