BIOGRAPHY
Mary in the junkyard is a London band made up of vocalist and guitarist Clari Freeman-Taylor, viola and bass player Saya Barbaglia, and drummer David Addison. Freeman-Taylor and Barbaglia met as teenagers at a classical music summer camp, while Freeman-Taylor and Addison had previously played together in the band Second Thoughts. The group effectively formed in 2022 when Freeman-Taylor booked a gig at the Cavendish Arms in Stockwell and enlisted the other two to join her.
Signed to All My Friends Records, the band broke through in the UK press in 2023 with their debut single 'Tuesday.' They followed with the EP this old house in 2024, produced by XL Recordings' Richard Russell, toured with Wet Leg, played SXSW, and released their debut album Role Model Hermit in July 2026, produced by Oli Bayston and Ben Baptie.
