BIOGRAPHY
Lindsay Anderson is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Evanston, Illinois, working across jazz, folk and pop-inflected indie rock. She co-founded the dream pop duo L'altra and released her solo debut, If, on Minty Fresh in 2007.
WHY THEY'RE COOL
Anderson's catalog moves fluidly between dream pop, neo-classical touches and indie rock, carried by soaring, honeyed vocals shaped by years of classical voice training. She has played and toured with Edith Frost, Will Oldham (Bonnie 'Prince' Billy), Telefon Tel Aviv, Slicker and Pulseprogramming, and shared stages with Cowboy Junkies, Todd Rundgren, Wilco, Cat Power and Damo Suzuki. Recording as Same Waves, she released Algorithm of Desire (Flau, 2018), a precursor to her newest project, Forgiving, a twelve-song work built around the romantic and artistic entanglement of surrealist painters Leonora Carrington and Max Ernst.
