Soccer Mommy

BIOGRAPHY

Soccer Mommy is the project of Sophia Regina Allison, born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1997 and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, where she studied guitar at Nashville School of the Arts. She began posting home-recorded songs to Bandcamp in 2015 while attending New York University for music business and English, later signing to Fat Possum and playing her first live show as Soccer Mommy at Silent Barn in Brooklyn. Her albums Clean (2018), Color Theory (2020), Sometimes, Forever (2022), and Evergreen (2024) have drawn consistent critical praise. AllMusic called her 'one of the stronger 90s revivalists in 2020s indie,' while Rolling Stone described her as 'one of indie rock's most intensely beloved singer-songwriters.'

WHY THEY'RE COOL

Soccer Mommy's songwriting fuses 1990s alternative rock textures with 2000s pop sensibility, a mix some critics have dubbed 'bubblegrunge.' Her confessional, conversational lyrics have earned praise from AllMusic for reading 'quietly tormented,' and across four acclaimed albums she's become one of the defining voices of 2020s indie rock.
