The Nude Party

BIOGRAPHY

The Nude Party formed in 2012 in the freshman dorms of North Carolina's Appalachian State University, when Patton Magee and Austin Brose teamed up with childhood friends Connor Mikita and Alec Castillo, later joined by step brothers Shaun Couture and Zachary Merrill. The group moved into a lake house outside Boone and taught themselves their instruments, building a following for raucous shows at a party house known as the '505 House.' Their name reportedly came from a Ouija board session, as the band told KEXP. After meeting Black Lips drummer Oakley Munson on tour, the band recorded 'Hot Tub EP' in his West Asheville basement in 2016. Signed to New West Records, their self-titled 2018 debut was tracked in two days straight to tape at Dreamland Recording Studios in Woodstock, NY. Midnight Manor followed in 2020, Rides On in 2023, and Look Who's Back in 2026. The band has supported Arctic Monkeys and Jack White on tour.

WHY THEY'RE COOL

The Nude Party channel raw, Nuggets-style garage rock with a loose, communal energy built from years of house parties before major labels noticed. Rolling Stone called their debut 'equal parts Velvet Underground and Exile on Main Street-era Stones,' while DIY dubbed the band 'the coolest motherfuckers on the block.' Recording live to tape and touring with Arctic Monkeys and Jack White, they've carried a scrappy, DIY spirit into increasingly assured songwriting across four albums.
