BIOGRAPHY
The Mellons are a baroque-pop and psychedelic rock band formed around 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founders Andrew Beck and Rob Jepson met in high school in Provo; Beck, an early member of Imagine Dragons, later joined Jepson to start the project after his previous band, Day Sounds, ended in 2019. Multi-instrumentalist Denney Fuller and percussionist Ian Francis, veterans of other local bands, rounded out the lineup. Signed to Earth Libraries, The Mellons released their debut, Introducing... The Mellons!, in 2022 — a record layered with clarinets, violins, sleigh bells, and trumpets around close vocal harmonies. SLUG Magazine and Provo Music Magazine both praised its Beach Boys/Pet Sounds-style pop, highlighting the song 'So Much To Say.' A follow-up, The Mellons In Color, is slated for 2026.
