BIOGRAPHY
The Embryos formed in Chicago in autumn 2016, bringing together musicians who had crossed paths in Chicago's music scene for decades, including in bands like Demilos, Soft Speaker, and The Saturday Nights. The lineup features Brian Daley on vocals, guitar, and bass; Finn Swingley on vocals, guitar, piano, Wurlitzer, Rhoads piano, and percussion; and Joe Daley on vocals, drums, and percussion, with additional contributions on guitar, bass, keyboards, and harmonica rounding out the group's sound.
The band has released a run of albums independently via Bandcamp, including National Absurdatory (2021) and Selling What You Want To Buy.

The Embryos wear their decades of shared musical history lightly, moving easily between rock subgenres rather than settling into one lane. Selling What You Want To Buy has been singled out for this range, drifting from a breezy, mid-1970s Eagles-style country-rock feel on the single 'Desiree' to Band-inspired arrangements steeped in Americana and Marshall Crenshaw influences on tracks like 'Sweater in the Heather.'
