BIOGRAPHY

BRONCHO is an American indie rock band formed in 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma, led by Ryan Lindsey on guitar and vocals alongside Brennan Smiley on guitar, Penny Pitchlynn on bass, and Nathan Price on drums. The band debuted with Can't Get Past the Lips in 2011, released via Guestroom Records and CQ Records before a 2013 reissue on Fairfax Recordings. Their catalog grew through Just Enough Hip to Be Woman (2014), which drew favorable reviews, Double Vanity (2016), and Bad Behavior (2018), praised for a shift toward a more pop-oriented sound. The fifth album, Natural Pleasure, arrived in 2025 on Kung Fu Records, continuing a style built on punk, post-punk, new wave, glam, and psychedelic rock.

WHY THEY'RE COOL

BRONCHO's songs have moved well beyond the Norman, Oklahoma scene that spawned them, turning up in HBO Now ads, the film Movie 43, the climbing documentary Valley Uprising, a Kate Hudson Fabletics campaign, Cartoon Network spots, the Vacation soundtrack, Santa Clarita Diet, Reservation Dogs, and the first gameplay trailer for the video game Ananta. That kind of reach reflects a knack for compact, hook-forward rock songs that blend punk energy with new wave gloss and glam flair, a sound critics noted growing more pop-savvy by the time of Bad Behavior in 2018.
