BIOGRAPHY

Christopher Goddard is a Canadian composer and pianist born in Ottawa and currently based in Montreal. He holds a D.Mus. in composition from McGill University, an M.M. in contemporary performance from the Manhattan School of Music, an M.M. in composition from Rice University, and a B.Mus. in composition and theory from McGill University, having studied with mentors including John Rea, Pierre Jalbert, Karim Al-Zand, Chris Paul Harman and Brian Cherney. His catalog lists collaborations with ensembles such as Esprit Orchestra, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Quatuor Molinari and NYO Canada, commissions from the Lucerne Festival and Royal Conservatory's 21C Festival, and recognitions including the MacDowell Foundation, SOCAN Young Composer Awards and the 2022 Governor General's Performing Arts Awards protégé designation.
