BIOGRAPHY
Forest Ray started in San Luis Obispo, California in 2015 as a recording partnership between singer-songwriter Peter Sumic and guitarist Robby Porovich, formed while both attended California Polytechnic State University. After graduating they moved to Seattle, Washington, where they self-released their debut album, Musical Witchcraft, in 2016. The band has since released a steady run of full-lengths, including Laughing (2018), Faded Reflection (2019), Black Pine (2020) and Windfucker (Jebivjetar) in 2024, along with a 7" split with Lasso Spells on Cold Lunch Recordings.

Forest Ray's story is built on steady, DIY momentum: a college-born duo relocating cross-country, self-releasing a debut, then grinding out five more albums over less than a decade while blending psychedelic guitar rock with garage, folk rock and organ-driven pop. They played South by Southwest in 2019 and later completed a five-week, six-country European tour.
