BIOGRAPHY
Lael Sinclair Neale is an American indie rock musician from Virginia, born on a rural farm before she moved to Los Angeles to pursue music. Her debut album, I'll Be Your Man, arrived in 2015 on Liberal Arts, but it was years later, after discovering the Omnichord in 2019, that her sound shifted decisively.
Working with producer Guy Blakeslee, she recorded a raw collection on a cassette 4-track that reached Sub Pop in March 2020, leading to her signing with the label. She has since released Acquainted With Night (2021), Star Eaters Delight (2023), and Altogether Stranger (2025), with a further album, As Killers Do, announced for 2026 on her and Blakeslee's new label, Consensual Sound.

Neale's minimalist drone pop is built from an unlikely instrument, the Omnichord, and a commitment to unpolished, hand-made recording that resists the sterilizing effect of standard studio production. Her ongoing partnership with producer Guy Blakeslee has carried through three albums, refining a sound that draws on Transcendentalist thought, the alienation of modern life, and influences spanning Dionne Warwick, John Lennon, primitive American gospel, and Spacemen 3. She's earned real-world traction too, with a sold-out UK tour and support slots for Beach House, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, and Cass McCombs, plus a Paste 'Best New Songs' nod for 'Hotline.'
