BIOGRAPHY
Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio (DLO3) is a Seattle-based soul-jazz group founded in 2015 by Hammond B-3 organist Delvon Lamarr, guitarist Colin Higgins, and drummer David McGraw. Guitarist Jimmy James soon replaced Higgins, and in January 2023 Miles "Smiles" Harris took over guitar duties after James departed to form Parlor Greens. Lamarr's wife, Amy Novo, has managed and booked the group since its early days.
Lamarr, a longtime Seattle multi-instrumentalist trained on drums and trumpet, taught himself organ at 22 while drumming in organist Joe Doria's band. The trio's albums, including Close But No Cigar and I Told You So, have topped the U.S. Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, cementing their reputation as a leading voice in the genre.
